It was raining steadily throughout County Galway on the day I went to photograph Kylemore Abbey. So my expectations were not very high as I set up under an umbrella and shot in the drippy conditions. How surprised I was, then, when I developed the film and found that the rain had "made the shot" by softening the light, and rendering the scene in perfect harmony with the character of the subject.
